About Pauldine Enterprises LLC
After retiring in 2014, I founded Pauldine Enterprises LLC. Through this company, I now provide three core services:
- Speaking Engagements
- Leadership Development Services
- Consulting
I keep things simple and focus on what’s important to the client. See the ‘Past Engagements’ section of the website to see what I have been up to since ‘retiring’.

I am Dave Pauldine, sole proprietor of Pauldine Enterprises LLC. After a 35-year career, much of it at the executive and CEO level, I’ve gained leadership experience that translates into impactful speeches and presentations. I hold a master’s degree in Leadership and am passionate about helping others grow in this vital skill. I’ve made the study of leadership my craft and my passion. My differentiator is the manner in which I deliver my remarks. My style is less formal. I work hard at being easy to listen to.
As a leadership speaker, my primary service is delivering powerful, practical talks on leadership. I also provide leadership development and consulting services that reinforce the lessons of my speeches and give organizations tools to apply them directly.
My Story
It was a good run. I spent 35 years in the private sector of higher education and ran a gauntlet that presented countless challenges and opportunities along the way. I was fortunate to serve as President/CEO of two of the largest higher education institutions. In my last role as President/CEO of DeVry University and The Keller Graduate School of Management, I led an organization of ~7,500 employees, with peak revenues in excess of $1.4 billion.
Of course, no career is without its bumps; mine was no exception. I saw more than one period of decline, a host of external threats to our business, and the usual variety of mistakes, hiccups, and headaches that almost every business endures over time. It’s safe to say I saw it all in my career.

Career Lessons from the Front Lines
The diversity of my experiences certainly put me in the category of someone who was battle-tested. I worked in a highly regulated sector of higher education, in a public company, a private company, and an ESOP. In addition to working with employees across North America, my work required me to interface with students, parents, accreditors, state and federal regulators, shareholders, governing boards, labor unions, service providers, employers, the media, and other educators.
A considerable amount of my time was spent traveling across North America, with additional stints in Asia, Europe, South America, and the Caribbean. I gave innumerable presentations and speeches to various constituents, dealt with moments of chaos and crisis, regularly juggled multiple priorities, experienced the high-speed challenges of problems and issues coming at me daily, and made a mistake or two along the way.
The pace of the work was relentless at times, and the demands were considerable. All this had to be done while managing my life as a husband and father of two children. And you know what? I wouldn’t trade a minute of it.
Leadership Education & Transformation
I like to think of my career as divided into two parts: the first part was before grad school, and the second part was after. About midway through my career, I earned a master’s degree in leadership, and this experience changed my level of confidence and competence as well as the trajectory of my career.
My studies of leadership went deep and wide. I homed in on the art and science of leadership and began understanding the important traits, characteristics, and behaviors of successful leaders. This set me on a course to put into practice what I learned and to fine-tune my skills as a leader along the way. We’re all subject matter experts in something. For me, I’d say my area of expertise is in leadership.
A Leadership Speaker Grounded in Purpose
My career allowed me to see leadership in its most demanding form, but my purpose today is simpler. I want to share what I know, inspire others to lead better, and help organizations thrive through more effective leadership.
Leadership challenges can stall growth, strain culture, and create uncertainty in even the strongest organizations. I rely on decades of executive leadership to help leaders overcome those challenges. As a speaker, I share lessons drawn from years of experience at the highest levels – lessons that inspire action and create lasting impact. Areas of expertise include strategic planning, culture, ethics, high performing work teams, execution and the differences between management and leadership.
So here I am, retired but with a reserve of passion and energy around helping others improve their careers. Under Pauldine Enterprises LLC, I offer speaking, leadership development, and consulting services. I like to cherry-pick the right clients who want to advance their skill set in leadership, operational management, strategic planning, culture, ethics, and developing high-performing work teams.

Bottom Line
If you are looking for more than just a presentation, I offer practical leadership insight, shaped by experience, education, and the learnings that come from hits and misses. And, I deliver the content in an easy to understand manner. My focus as a speaker is always on creating meaningful value for people and organizations.
